About Tanya Molskaya aka SQUIGLET
Those who hear not the music think the dancers mad...
Born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, I studied art in the United States at the Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD).
I believe that my personal style emerged quite early in my life and long before the academic training I have received. My works are usually inspired by music, I am listening to while drawing. Music provokes various emotions, feelings, moods, which I try to capture on the paper... It is a diary in a way, but I would invite viewers to give their own interpretations of my work, which I sign as SQUIGLET, from squiggle or "a free looping and curling line".
Since January 1st 2021, I am officially represented by Gallérie Fahid Taghavi (Geneva, Switzerland, galeriefahidtaghavi.ch) and the originals of my work can be purchased at the gallery directly or via the gallery on Artsy: artsy.net
“What she does is very free. Her drawings are nocturnal, full of a drama that I could qualify as eastern, which she treats with a lightness that gives all its simplicity. These are intentions. Directions. Ample movements. Her line is sure and seems detached. Her particular style almost always puts the human being at the center. With her everything is joy. We are fortunate to market the original designs. You have the option of purchasing prints from the Squiglet.art site.”
